People of a certain age will vividly remember Colombian footballer Carlos Valderama, partly for his footballing prowess but also for his gigantic afro. The afro took on a life of its own and when Valderama was honoured with a statue his hair was made from a special golden material. But the great afro is no more as Valderama has put up photos of his new look. It is more streamlined but definitely not as memorable.

At least whoever commissioned the statue can pawn the hair and maybe recoup some of their money.
