Leicester City winning the Premier League. Brexit. Donald Trump becoming the US President. These are all signs of an impending apocalypse right?
If you weren't convinced now, then maybe you might be - Southampton are about to make the signing of the summer with a £12 million capture of a Bayern Munich wonderkid.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, some of you may know who he is already - is about to join Shane Long at the Saints. The 20-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder is one of the next generation's hottest stars, having broke into the Bayern team under Pep Guardiola aged just 17.
Hojbjerg, my personal favourite player, from Football Manager over the last number of years is available at a cut-price £12 million because of a lack of first team opportunities, and his agent has told papers that a move to the south coast of England is imminent. Soren Lerby told Ekstra Bladet:
Yes, I can confirm that Pierre will switch to Southampton.
Hojbjerg started for Bayern in the 2013 German Cup final, but the signing of Renato Sanches, as well as the presence of Javi Martinez, Xabi Alonso, Thiago, and Arturo Vidal has lead him to believe his future is elsewhere.
Great move by Southampton. It was pretty clear from his book that Pep Guardiola absolutely loved Hojbjerg. High praise. #saintsfc

What a signing it will be for Southampton.
