Back in April, the ever mysetious "Sky Sources" announced that Ilkay Gundogan was on the verge of joining Manchester United for £21.5m, see:

But suddenly everything went quiet, until rumours spread that Barcelona we in talks with the German international:

But today, Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Gundogan has signed a contract extension with the club:

So here is what that could mean:
a) Ilkay Gundogan wasn't on the verge of a move to United or Barca, and wanted a new deal.
b) Ilkay Gundogan signed a new one year extension to ensure BVB don't get fleeced on the fee when he leaves.
c) Ilkay Gundogan SNUBBED United and Barca and signed a new deal with BVB.
d) The internet spread rumours like wildfire while Gundogan was negotiating a new deal with his club.
Either way, it's too much work to keep up with a fecking transfer story these days. We don't know who or what to believe.
All we know is that Gundogan will be playing at Dortmund next season. Or will he?
