We are much obliged to loyal reader @seidodge who was kind enough to remind us that before 19-year-old Carl McHugh's goal for Bradford against Shay Given last night, the last time that a Donegal man scored against a Donegal man in English football was way back in 2004.

Given was on the receiving end. The scorer? Who else. The great one, big Dots. Gary Doherty scored in the 71st of Norwich's 2004 2-all draw against Newcastle in August 2004.

So every eight years, a Donegal man scores against a Donegal man. Looking forward to 2021.
