'The Irish Man' Caoimhin Kelleher And Conor Bradley Give Bunting A Scare In Darts Showdown

Conor Bradley and Caoimhin Kelleher took on Sky Sports presenter Emma Paton and 'the bullet' Stephen Bunting in a series of darts games at the Liverpool training ground recently.

The duo of Bunting and Paton won all three games, but they were pushed all the way by Kelleher and Bradley, both of whom have darts boards at home and practice regularly.

The Cork goalkeeper wore a personalised green shirt, showing his darts nickname 'the Irishman,' and walked out to the tune of Bewitched classic C'est La Vie.

"Standing tall between the sticks, the Irish shot-stopper with nerves of steel, the canon of Cork himself, Caoimh, 'the Irishman Kelleher," was his introduction, with most of the Liverpool squad watching on.

Bradley's darts nickname is the 'Tyrone tormentor,' and he was introduced as 'the northern Irish full back with the rocket of a right foot.'

The full back showed his class early on where the pair attempted to score as much as they could in the space of sixty seconds, in a game of speed darts. Kelleher and Bradley hit 475 in the sixty seconds but Bunting and Paton beat them with a score of 565.

They then played a game of traditional 501 where Bradley and Kelleher again showed their talents, with Bradley only narrowly missing out on a 47 check-out to take the game for the duo.

Bunting then finished them off with a double four before Kelleher came into his own in a game of 'around the board.' They narrowly missed a chance to win it on the bull before world number five Bunting took them out again.

Afterwards, Bradley told Paton that he plays darts most days after training, having first took an interest after watching Luke Littler in last year's world championships.

"A little bit. Me and Conor both play at home. We both have a dart board in the house," Kelleher said.

"I go around the house and play him," he added.

"Most days I would (throw darts)," Bradley said.

"Whenever you're board and sitting there, you just go and throw a few darts at the board. It's good fun as well."

After the game, Bunting said he was impressed with the two lads, hailing their respective techniques.
