TOUCH WOOD.
For the love of God find something made of wood and touch it as hours after it emerged that Italy midfielder Marco Verratti will likely miss Euro 2016 as he has failed to recover from a hip injury, it has become apparent that West Ham goalkeeper Adrian will miss the remainder of the season.
Slaven Bilic today confirmed that Adrian has a minor injury, but one that is not worth risking for the remainder of the season, and judging by his comments their confidence in Randolph has played a big part in that.
It's minor but unfortunately because it's his calf he is probably out for the rest of the season.
We have a great deputy, whenever he has stepped in, he's been brilliant.
He's one of the reasons we went far in the FA Cup. He was great against Manchester United, home and away, and Liverpool. We're happy to have him.
This is very welcome news for Ireland as our first choice goalkeeper will have a nice run of games to get his match sharpness up to speed right before the squad heads off to France. West Ham have three more fixtures remaining this season and the Bray man will now start them all.
Randolph was almost certainly set to be first choice regardless of his lack of Premier League starts this season, as his performances both for Ireland and in cup matches for West Ham have been exceptional.
That means that in the last week we have seen Vincent Kompany ruled out for Belgium, Marco Verratti being a major doubt for Italy, and now the one key player who hasn't been starting at club level will be given a run of games.
Please let this trend continue. Touch wood.
