Atletico Madrid have made it to the Champions League final for the second time in three seasons after they came away from Munich with a vital away goal that was the deciding factor in the tie.
After the first leg, Eamon Dunphy and Liam Brady had an argument over whether or not Atletico under Simeone were too cynical to enjoy, and sure enough, the feisty-ness of the second leg has sparked that debate on a much larger scale.
Torres got the important assist, Griezzmann applied the cool finish, but all the talk after the game was of Simeone, most of it inspired by this moment of madness:
There are two clear sides in this one. On one hand, some are loving Simeone's passion and occasional shitehousery, while other simply cannot stand it.
The usual mob lauding Simeone for the diving scheming cheating anti football park the bus stuff they hated Jose for. Not for me thanks.

Simeone is a genius. And Griezmann is the next best thing.

Simeone absolutely has to be suspended for the final. Assaulting an official is just shameful. Dirtbag

Football fans have to admit Simeone is a Genius! pic.twitter.com/T68OCFqXkt

Can you imagine dating Simeone's daughter?
— Mohsin (@Azpigeno) May 3, 2016
Simeone runs on full on passion, might go over the top at times but it's great to see

Simeone is a genius, by far the best manager in the world at the minute, chap is a hero ??
— Antoegan (@antoegan67) May 3, 2016
As Brian Kerr would say, if that was the League of Ireland, Simeone would have been sent off twice for that
— Karl Reilly (@HistoryLOI) May 3, 2016
Simeone is fantastic, not only a great man manager but an expert tactician, they've taken 2 big boys out and have made themselves favourites

This play acting/cheating has reached new heights this evening. Embarrassing. Simeone? Worse than Mourinho I think.
— Tom McDermott (@footballmcd) May 3, 2016
Atletico are a painful dose. Juanfran, Godin, Simeone, Gabi, are all psychotic. Come on Bayern. #ChampionsLeague
— paul galvin (@pgal10) May 3, 2016
Simeone is one of the earnest coaches out there, he’s nothing like Mourinho and his antics. A world separates these two.

We also asked our twitter followers the big question...
And Atletico Madrid are into the Champions League final! What a crazy game. Simeone: Eejit or Hero? #YouTellUs
— Balls.ie (@ballsdotie) May 3, 2016
Once again, it was divided:

@ballsdotie fab ! Oblak did so so well ??
— karen murray (@minnyminty) May 3, 2016
@ballsdotie Simeone is a disgrace to football. Was the same when he was a player.
— Scaldychops (@Scaldychops) May 3, 2016
There doesn't appear to be a concensus on this one. It's very much a 'love him or hate him' situation, and either way he has done a terrific job with Atleti.
