The most embarrassing result in the history of Celtic football club? Arguably yes. Brendan Rodgers' side lost to Lincoln Red Imps, team of part-time players from Gibraltar. And on the 12th of July of all dates.
This was no ordinary pre-season friendly, this was a Champions League qualifier - likely one of the sole reasons as to why Brendan Rodgers choose to take the Celtic job, so he could play in Europe's premier club competition.
The goal was scored by the same man who scored for Gibraltar at Hampden Park in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, a policeman, who will work his beat with a smile on his face tomorrow.
Have a look at the hilarious reaction on Twitter after the defeat.

Celtic losing to the Lincoln Red Imps is the most embarrassing defeat in Scottish Football history, bar none.

Imagine there are Celtic fans in Ireland who would scoff at the mere suggestion of a LOI beating them in Europe.

Rodgers can be consoled by Celtic's 'great character'. He did say Liverpool's 2-0 loss at Zenit was a 'near on perfect away performance'.

#Celtic have just lost to Lincoln Red Imps of #Gibraltar. Let us put that in perspective. Steven Fletcher scored hat tricks vs Gibraltar ...

The Imps' left-back was driving a taxi until 1pm today apparently. A colossal humiliation for Celtic.

Semi-professional Lincoln Red Imps have beaten Celtic 1-0 tonight. To be fair, they are the best team in Gibraltar.

Celtic have genuinely lost to a team full of FM style greyed out players who don't even exist. Scenes.

Brendan Rodgers doesn't consider Celtic losing to a semi professional team anything of an embarrassment. What a fucking strange man he is.
