Tottenham Hotspur today confirmed the least shocking retirement news the football world has ever seen, as veteran goalkeeper Brad Friedel announced he will retire at the end the current season at the age of 44.

While the Premier League will lose one of it's longest serving imports and ambassadors of US Mens National Team Soccer, the real bad news is for fans of FIFA 96, as with Brad Friedel gone we are left with the following fact:
AS Roma's Francesco Totti and Sao Paulo's Rogerio Ceni are the only active players remaining who were playable on EA Sports FIFA 96.
Only two players left... It's so sad.
FIFA 96 was released on Playstation, SNES, and Sega Genesis back in 1995, and for everyone who enjoyed that game as a youngster we would like to apologise for making you feel really really old. Still, at least we've still got Totti and the keeper who bangs in free-kicks!
