Amazingly, Premier League referee Roger East has yet to receive an award by any anti-racism groups for his inspirational colour-blindness when he mistook Wes Brown for John O'Shea in a match in February.
Previously, referees have mistaken black players for other black players and white players for other white players. While there is no malicious intent attributable to any of the referees who made these unfortunate errors, the East incident is the first time a referee had mistaken players from different races.
The Guardian are not feeling so enlightened this morning and are under fire over an article about racist article on social media. They ran out of pictures of Daniel Sturridge.

Naturally people have seized on the irony of the situation but this is an innocent mistake from those at the Guardian and in no way detracts from the Guardian's very fine football output which is rightly beloved of fans everywhere.
