I was never very good at bowling. It's another one of those trivial sports that exists on the peripheries of an Irish kid's upbringing. The nearest bowling alley was a half an hour away right beside a swimming pool, that for some reason always seemed more appealing.
Perhaps it's a generational thing, but the fondest memories I have of bowling, are the performances of Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski, and Woody Harrelson in Kingpin.
Maybe if things like this happened more often, bowling might just have been for me.
