Friday October 9th was a truly magical day. It was the morning after the night before, Shane Long stuck one past Manuel Neuer and the entire country was on the kind of high that doesn't come along very often.
Colours were brighter, sounds were sweeter and everyone was a friend. We had a bit of fun with the German commentary and we thought we were very clever altogether. We soon realised what real intelligence was when the Artistic Difference sent us in the words to a song that would take the country by storm.
We ran with it, managed to rope in Keywest and an anthem was born.
When half of Ireland descends on France this summer we can only hope that cracker of a song is remembered. And thankfully the FAI are doing their bit to carry it through to Euro 2016 with their own tribute to Shane Long on his 29th birthday.
(Seeing the goal again is good, hearing the music is even better)
Happy birthday, @ShaneLong7! #COYBIGhttps://t.co/cJKdssbyN2
