The FA are not taking Eva Carneiro's criticism lying down after she claimed that she was 'at no stage requested by the FA to make a statement' during their investigation into the infamous incident with Jose Mourinho on the opening day of the season.
After keeping her counsel for quite some time, Carneiro launch a blistering attack on the FA after they cleared Mourinho of wrongdoing today. However, football's governing body in England has issued a statement in response, saying:
We have never received any information or complaint from Dr Carneiro. Including in written correspondence with her lawyers, it has been made explicitly clear that if Dr Carneiro had evidence to provide or wished to make a complaint she was more than welcome to do so. That route remains open.
The plot thickens. Could there be more legs in this investigation yet?
