Truth be told, we're still finding it hard to comprehend that the Community Shield is taking place this weekend but for Liverpool fans, the match against Arsenal is their first chance to see how the Reds will fare as they prepare to defend their Premier League title.
After waiting for 30 years, that sentence must feel good to read, right?
Well, with a new season beckoning, BBC will be giving Liverpool fans the perfect chance to reflect on a memorable season for the Reds with their 90-minute documentary which chronicles a famous season for Jurgen Klopp's men.
In terms of a synopsis, Liverpool FC: The 30-Year Wait will provide an "insight into why the club’s domination of football in the 1980s melted away; how the club’s identity was shaped by the tragedies of Heysel and Hillsborough; and the struggle to keep up with the rapidly changing world of football, before moving on to the Jurgen Klopp revolution that returned them back to the summit of the game."
The documentary is narrated by Liverpool fan Jason Isaacs and includes contributions from Jurgen Klopp, Rafa Benitez, Roy Evans, Gerard Houllier and Brendan Rodgers.
In terms of the players that are interviewed, Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson, Virgil Van Dijk, Robbie Fowler, John Barnes and Michael Owen will all feature too.
As you can see in the clip below, the film will also delve into some of the club's lower points over those three decades when they didn't win the league, like the decision to make Roy Evans and Gerard Houllier co-managers, and the Hicks-Gillett era.
Liverpool FC: The 30-Year Wait airs on Sunday, August 30 at 9pm on BBC Two.
