Could someone explain Kalou's hair? More baffling than the selection of Bertrand.
5m: A Tony Kroos shot has been the nearest thing to a goal we've had. Bastian Schweinsteiger has been booked for a handball and the Bayern right-back seems Contento to stay there.....ba boom tish!
9m: The Bayern murial that welcomed the players onto the pitch is worth a look. According to World Soccer editor Gavin Hamilton it said : "Our city, Our Stadium, Our Cup " We'll see. It is comfortably better than Chelsea's plastic flags though.
13m: Mario Gomez has had his first header of the evening. It was wildly off target as David Luiz barged into the back of him. It's safe to assume one way or the other Luiz's name will crop up again.
21m: Arjen Robben forces a save from Petr Cech after wriggling away just inside the box and shooting low. Chelsea are on the ropes a bit now. Or perhaps it is some Barca style elaborate plan to get battered and somehow win.
24m: Bayern are really in command now and a goal from the home side seems ineviatable. Their midfielder in particular is in Kroos control..last one of them, promise.
30m: This kid was asleep before the game and to be honest he'd be doing well to be awake now.
35m: A lovely run and cross from Contento finds Tomas Muller who pulls his volley just wide. Someone needs to tell Chelsea this isn't over two legs.
37m: Message recieved. Lampard finds Kalou who shot is saved by a grateful Manuel Neuer.
42m: "Super" Mario Gomez turns Gary Cahill inside the box and blasts over. He has 13 goals in 11 Champions League games so lets give him the benefit of the doubt. It was a shocker though.
Half-time: Bayern in total control but as Adrian Chiles notes; They can't hit a cows behind with a banjo. 0-0.

45m: We are back underway predictably with Bayern on the attack.
53m: Franck Ribery has the ball in the net but it's correctly ruled out for offside. Chelsea still well in the game despite being second best for pretty much all of it.

60m: Ashley Cole is having a fantastic game to be fair to him. You have to say that because nobody likes him. The left-back flung himself at an Arjen Robben shot to deny the Dutchman and he has generally been the rock that many Bayern attacks have perished upon. He's still Ashley Cole though.
69m: The game is following the same pattern since the start. Bayern have all the possession, are generally camped in Chelsea's half but cannot score. A combanation of heroic Chelsea defending and poor passing and finishing in the final third is the Germans undoing. Penalty shoot-out John?
80m: Time is running out and extra-time at least looks inevitable. Tomas Muller hooked a decent chance wide and Bayern look a little drained at the moment.
82m: GOAL! Tomas Muller heads home from a deep cross and the drained Bayern lead with 7 minutes to go. Torres is on for Kalou.
88m: GOAL! Didier Drogba with a rocket header from a Chelsea corner. Neuer could have possibly done better. 9 cup finals for Chelsea, Drogba has 9 goals.

93m: The last kick of the game will be a Drogba free-kick....
He whacked it over. It's full-time and we have at least another half hour.

2m: This is getting ridiculous. Torres storms down the right and goes down easily in the box. The ref correctly waves play on. Bayern counter and Drogba then clips Ribery's heel. Penalty given....
5m: SAVED! Drama thy name is Robben. A terrific save from Cech denies Robben and Chelsea are still well in this. Franck Ribery has departed with an injury.

17m: We are 13 minutes away from penalties. Bayern are still attacking but if anything the game has evened up after the substitution made.
18m: Olic finds himself all alone at the back post but his cross-cum-shot is well, neither. This is heading inexorably towards a Chelsea win on penalties.
24m: Martin Tyler tells us that no English side has lost a penalty shoot out against foreign opposition. They are playing Germans though.

As ever you can't call it. Neuer was heroic in Madrid. Cech has saved one tonight. Chelsea don't have Terry though and that could swing it.
