Introducing The Caxirola, The Brazil 2014 Version Of The Vuvuzela

Organisers of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil have unveiled their version of the much derided vuvuzela, the 'musical' instrument which was used by fans at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa to create atmosphere at games.

The Brazilian version is known as the 'caxirola' and it makes a rattling sound not too dissimilar to that made by a South American rainstick, which I'm sure you are all familiar with.

The instrument was created following a collaboration between Brazilian musician, Carlinhos Brown, and the country's Ministry of Sport.

The Caxirola will be tested out at this summer's Confederations Cup and can be heard in action in the video below.
