We rarely get the opportunity to write about Chesterfield FC here at Balls. Flicking through the archive, the last two stories on this site regarding the club was the sacking of John Sheridan in 2012 and as one of the clubs at which Caleb Folan appeared, as part of a Where Are They Now on the lost boys of Irish International football.
Today, however, we are able to write our third Chesterfield story in four years, as the club are at the centre of a frankly bizarre story concerning a raffle. The prize was a spot on the Chesterfield plane for the pre-season trip to Hungary. A ticket cost £10, but the club were hoisted by the poor levels of interest. The story has been set out by Chesterfield fan Jonno Turner, and we will allow him take it from here.
Bizarre. You can follow Jonno on twitter, @jonnot.
