This season seems to have given us richer managerial celebrations than ever before. We've gotten the knee slide, the fist bump accompanied by a "F**k yes!" and the lucrative non-celebration has also crept in. Balls.ie has compiled the best and worst celebrations of the year for you to enjoy and even put them in categories for your convenience.
Knee Slides
It would be remiss not to start off with the man who kickstarted the knee slide craze. No manager varies between the insane and the non-celebration quite like Mourinho.
The craze spread like a plague across the managerial landscape, albeit a good and fun kind of plague. Soon Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in on it.
After one game in charge Paolo Di Canio had enough celebrations for his own post. But his knee slide gets extra/loses marks for producing thick grass stains that the other lads avoided.
Non-celebrations
Some managers like Benitez and (occasionally) Mourinho enjoy celebrating their goals by not celebrating. That can be okay but the non-celebrations here were done for different reasons. Giovanni Trapattoni was obviously thirlled with Wes Hoolahan's goal against Poland.
Paul Ince was so consumed by jealousy at his son's success that he couldn't muster a smile/clap/heartbeat/pulse after his son's goal. Perhaps he slipped into a coma.
Is there anything better than seeing Alan Pardew have is world crushed by the offside flag and then see him give a short sharp demoralised "NO"?
The BIG goal celebration
AVB celebrates exactly how AVB should after Gareth Bale's injury time howitzer against West Ham.
The opening goal of Paolo Di Canio's reign produced a great celebration Even Keanu Reeves in The Matrix couldn't get that much hangtime.
Good thing Sunderland are probably staying up because it would be cruel to deprive Premier League fans of these celebrations on a potentially weekly basis. Di Canio would no doubt clean up on the dance floor with these moves.
For me this is the celebration of the season. It's Alan Pardew at his best/worst: smug, obnoxious, cursing, fistbumping and swivelling. All that's missing is a knee slide down the Goodison Park steps.
Bonus- Rugby coaches celebrate
Rugby coaches don't often go over the top when celebrations and this shows why. Shaun Edwards and Rob Howley try to high 5 and Edwards almost bowls Howley over.
