A few days after being hammered by PSG in the Champions League, Barcelona looked all set to put things right with a result at home to Leganés, who lie 17th in La Liga. However the game transpired to be in many ways as unusual as that midweek defeat, the minnows putting up a fine display after a goal from Lionel Messi in the fourth minute put Barca ahead. Ter Stegen had to make a number of very impressive saves for the home side to keep out an equaliser.
But Leganés were rewarded as the clock ticked past seventy minutes. Unai López hit a tame shot after his side had managed to take advantage of Barcelona's fairly inept attempts at playing the ball out from the back. But Ter Stegen, in a strange effort to clear the ball with his feet, allowed the ball to slip past him. Such is the lot of goalkeepers: you play an amazing game, and it's the one error that people remember.

Luckily for Stegen, he plays in a team with Lionel Messi and Neymar, the latter winning a penalty and the former converting it in the 90th minute of the game to save Barcelona's blushes.
