The three tourists from the UK who were assaulted in Temple Bar on Friday night were in Ireland to play a pre-season friendly.
Charlie Carter, Conor Vaughan, and Luke Cairney are members of St. John's Sports in Aylesbury, just outside London, and had travelled to Dublin alongside their teammates to face Whitehall's St. Kevin's FC as they continue their preparations for the upcoming season.
All three are in their 20s and were taken to St. James's Hospital following the violent assault which took place at Fownes Street Upper just after 10pm.
Their injuries are believed to be serious but non life-threatening.
Manager describes horrific Temple Bar assault
Their manager Scott Davis told Dublin Live that his players had been offered cocaine but said no.
"Luke was walking away from the situation and got hit in the back of his head with something.
"He got hit and was knocked out straight away. He didn’t know where he was when he woke up…
"Charlie was punched a couple of times and they broke his nose. Conor got the worst of it all.
"They were kicking him and stamping on his head. It was about 15 guys who attacked them."
The game was called off in light of the incident, however St. Kevin's still welcomed their opponents and presented them with a memento of their trip to Dublin.
Even though we didn’t get to play the game it was great to have some of the squad from @stjohnssportsfc to the club. The lads were presented with a little memento of their trip. pic.twitter.com/UzutuL1sc9

Speaking yesterday to RTÉ News, Neil Fox, a club spokesperson, said that the assault is "totally disgraceful."
Fox explained that the club hosted the English team in a local bar yesterday "to show a good reflection" of Dublin.
Davis praised their hosts for their kindness.
"They’ve been absolutely fantastic," he said.
"They took us to their home pitch and gave us a walk around. We went to their local bar and had food and drinks with them all afternoon."
Gardaí at Pearse Street Station are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
