Without going too far down the whole Norman Tebbit route, obviously there should be a test which welcomes one into the sporting fold and lets entrants know what's expected. Obviously nothing too strenuous like knowing the words of the national anthem, a stipulation which would, famously, have excluded some of our greatest ever players from playing for us (such as Terry Mancini below).
