Tottenham crashed out of the Champions League on Wednesday night after Juve's experience told, the Old Lady winning out after a quick fire double in the second half.
For Arsenal fans it was a brief respite from the mockery they have endured for most of the season and Gunners fans will have loved Juventus back-up keeper and former Gunner Wojciech Szczęsny channeling his inner shit-stirrer when baiting Spurs supporters after the defeat.
Szczęsny was on the bench for the Bianconeri and the Polish international couldn't help but indulge in some childish antics in the wake of Spurs' exit. When the final whistle sounded Szczęsny signalled to Spurs fans by giving them a 'chin up' gesture as he left the pitch.
Then in his post match interview Szczęsny aimed another dig at the Tottenham faithful saying that after their side went down 2-1 that the mood got a lot quieter and hinted that their team crumbled under the pressure:
There were a couple [of Tottenham] fans — very vocal — next to my bench, who went missing after the 80th minute so, yeah, I enjoyed it.
We’ve got players who have won the World Cup, they’ve won six championships in a row and you see that makes a difference in the difficult situations. Where others crumble we manage to get out on top. We’re not here by accident. This club has won so much in the past. It didn’t just happen overnight.
Szczesny has been very vocal for a man that played no part in the two legs between the club but the big Pole does have previous when it comes to trolling Tottenham supporters posting this video after Arsenal finished ahead of their London neighbours in 2016 :
Szczesny left Arsenal for Roma in 2015 spending two seasons on loan before joining up with Juventus in 2017, playing 16 games for the Serie A side this term. Juve are currently engaged in a two horse race for the Serie A title, trailing Napoli by a point but with a game in hand, Szczesny has been involved 13 times for Juve in the league.
