This might be the most American World Cup moment of all time.
Local reporter in Portland, Drew Carney, was interviewing the inventor of a World Cup beer garden – a ubiquitous watering hole in Ireland but apparently not in the States – live during the Ghana match yesterday.
In the middle of their chat, with the 'scores tied at one', John Brooks popped up and scored the winner. Cue very restrained bedlam and the creepiest reporter strip of all time.
