It was the dive that saw the footballing world laugh in unison. It would have been tragic if it wasn't so funny.
IFK Norrkoping’s captain Andreas Johansson went down like a sack of spuds after he walked into Mohamed Bangura's arm during a Swedish League game last week and the footage quickly did the rounds on social media and before he knew it, Johansson was a laughing stock.
Now, the 33 year old has been forced to release a statement on the club's website to apologise for his actions.
What I did was wrong and has no place in football. I had a quick brainwave of which I am very ashamed … When I see things like this on TV it makes me angry and it makes me extremely disappointed that I did it.
The only hope for it now is for that dive to become required viewing for any youngster who thinks it's an acceptable part of the game.
