Bafe Gomis has told the Swansea City website that he is loving his new club and already feels Welsh.

In a wonderfully twee and dry profile, the French striker told of how he researched the club before joining from Lyon this summer. His research did not involve 'hitting the books or surfing the internet.'

Rather, it involved playing a lot of Football Manager.

The author, lest anyone not know what Football Manager is, helpfully clarified that it is 'sports interactive's popular football management simulation game'.

Gomis insisted that 'the game helped me learn a lot about the player's characteristics - their age, where they use to play, their attributes'

Sadly, he did not win any trophies with his new club.

'I didn't win many trophies, but I worried many top teams in the League and finished the season in eighth position. I won many matches against the 'big clubs' and, according to the game, had many good players in the team.'

The player does not harbour any ambitions of replacing Garry Monk, a man who he talks of with all the unconvincing admiration of a professional who has just recently signed for him.
