In a heavily-policed Dublin Derby between Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians in Tallaght tonight, substitute Eoghan Stokes gave the visitors a win with an absolutely beautiful second-half goal.
Coming off the bench in the second half, Stokes capitalised on a loose ball within the Shamrock Rovers' box, and calmly slipped the ball beneath Alan Mannus to ignite all sorts of celebrations from the away fans.
What a finish!

In what is always a fairly frenzied game between these two Dublin rivals, it was certainly the Bohemians fans who were enjoying themselves during tonight's game.
That being said, the police presence on the ground was quite significant in number.
A member of the Gardai pacing the touchline hands the ball to a Rovers player to take a throw. The optics of this are strange. This game has a history and needs policing but operation is completely OTT when there's width of a pitch between hardcore sets of fans.

Speaking after tonight's win, the match-winner Stokes couldn't but single out the fans and the difference they had made to Bohemians' efforts.
I'm delighted ... buzzing. Look at the atmosphere, the crowd we've brought down here. To score in front of them, it's something you dream of.
And what a goal it was. You can watch the entirety of Stokes' post-match interview below.
