Yesterday Sunderland secured the signing of much sought after Argentinian midfielder Pope Francis.

A target for several major European clubs since his contract at Vatican United expired last summer, Francis eventually decided on the north England club after meeting with manager Gus Poyet who vowed to play the South American in the sacred heart of his midfield.
The Pope is believed to have signed a long term deal and follows in the footsteps of Father Romeo Sensini in moving overseas to pursue his footballing dreams.
Just how his papal infallibility will hold up with the Premiership referees remains to be seen.
