Sunderland's ten years in the Premier League ended with defeat at home to Bournemouth on Saturday, bringing to a miserable end what was technically a golden period for the club, their decade-long stint representing their longest consecutive spell in the Premier League.

It hasn't really felt like that, however, as the club have eternally flirted with relegation, with the extent of fun at the club restricted to the middle of the best word to describe how they were run off the pitch.
