Sunderland's ten years in the Premier League ended with defeat at home to Bournemouth on Saturday, bringing to a miserable end what was technically a golden period for the club, their decade-long stint representing their longest consecutive spell in the Premier League.
It hasn't really felt like that, however, as the club have eternally flirted with relegation, with the extent of fun at the club restricted to the middle of the best word to describe how they were run off the pitch. The extent of that dysfunction is currently being laid bare by a heroic Sunderland fan on twitter, who - perhaps understandably - has changed his name to THE FOOTBALL HATER.
On the day of Sunderland's relegation, he tweeted that, for every for every 'favourite' one of his tweets received, he would share a ridiculous anecdote from Sunderland's recent history.
It's clocked over 1,000 favourites, but given just how badly Sunderland have been run over the past 15 years or so, there has been plenty of material.
Here are some of the highlights.
