Strangely Revealing Interview With An 11-Year-Old Nasri

Footage has surfaced online of a before and after interview conducted with Samir Nasri in 1999 in Marseille, aged 11, one year after France won the World Cup. The interviewer asks young Nasri to compare himself to Zidane, a another footballer raised in Marseille with Algerian roots. Young Nasri is put off by the comparison, he doesn't think he can do what Zidane has Zidane done. It's quite an introspective moment for an 11-year-old and possibly provides a window into understanding his arc in football.
