Building on their opening win of the Gary Rowett era last weekend, Stoke City progressed to the third-round of the League Cup this evening at the expense of the Premier League's Huddersfield Town.
Taking the lead through the most unlikely of sources, Saido Berahino capitalised on a James McClean shot that came off the post to give the home side their opening goal.
From there, Stroke held tight throughout and in a fairly desolate looking bet365 stadium were gifted a comical second goal late on.
With David Wagner's side desperately looking for the goal that would send the tie to penalties, a hoofed effort into the Stoke half was returned as quick. Unfortunately for Huddersfield's Juninho Bacuna, the whole thing caught him unawares.
With the Terriers' 'keeper well away from his own goal, it is not even that clear why Bacuna felt the need to connect with the ball so convincingly.
Either way, it was enough for Rowett's men to progress where they could now meet the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool or Chelsea in the third round.
