There were plenty of factless arguments started amongst the RTÉ panel last night but when Liam Brady and Eamon Dunphy started to debate the reasons behind Steven Reid's absence from the Irish set-up, the West Brom player quickly took to Twitter to clarify what actually happened.

He has since deleted the tweet but he was referring to Trapattoni's statement in 2009, where he said it would be very difficult for Reid to return to international football after another injury setback. His manager at Blackburn at the time, Sam Allardyce, branded the comments 'disgusting' and 'completely out of order.'
