Steven Gerrard has today spoke out on the rumours that he is set to take over from Graeme Murty at Rangers. Gerrard was asked by Gary Lineker in the BT Sport studio about the reports linking him to the job and the former England international confirmed that he has met with Rangers representatives:
There's truth in the rumours. I've held initial talks with Rangers, and the plan is to pick them up in a couple of days.
When asked whether he would become Rangers manager the former Liverpool captain said "we'll see" and confirmed there was an interest on his part in taking over at Ibrox.

If Gerrard were to take the Rangers job he would be leaving Liverpool as manager of their U18, but Jurgen Klopp has stated that should Gerrard seek pastures new that the club would not stand in his way.
