Steven Defour was supposed to be the jewel in a Standard Liege midfield crown that included Marouane Fellaini and Axel Witsel a few years ago. The former two have since gone on to cost the best part of €80 million in transfer fees between them. Defour on the other hand stagnated quite badly and now finds himself back in the Belgian league with Standard's rivals Anderlecht.
The Belgian international found himself back at Standard today for the first time since joining Anderlecht and the home fans let him know exactly what they thought of him.

The banner must have had an effect because Defour has had a nightmare, getting sent off after 54 minutes and then watching his new side subsequently let in two goals to go down to a 2-0 defeat. Just to prove how much the occasion got to him, his second yellow was for kicking the ball into the crowd in frustration. He had a choice of red or dead so he chose red.
