As many had expected, Stephan McPhail has officially signed for Shamrock Rovers.
The club announced on their website 'Shamrock Rovers can today confirm that Stephen McPhail has signed for the club for the 2014 season.
'McPhail’s contract with English Championship side, Sheffield Wednesday comes to an end this month, allowing him to put pen to paper on a deal with the Hoops.'
McPhail will formerly move to Rovers on February 18 when his contract with Wednesday expires. Rovers' manager Trevor Croly said:
'Stephen is a very good addition to our squad for the up-coming season. He is a quality player who has significant experience playing at a very high level. He will fit in well to the squad we have built for the new season and blends in well with the mix of youth, experience and talent we have put together. He is proven to have a strong, committed character and is very keen to come and do well here well at Shamrock Rovers.'
The former Leeds United man has been capped 10 times for Ireland.
