Stephen Kenny has named his Republic of Ireland team to take on Scotland in their UEFA Nations League clash in Glasgow this evening, with a number of player recalled to the side.

Gavin Bazunu has been reinstated in goals having missed the games back in June due to injury. The trio of John Egan, Nathan Collins, and Dara O'Shea will make up the heart of the defence, with Matt Doherty and James McClean in at wingback. There is no place in the side for Shane Duffy.

Josh Cullen will be joined by Jason Knight and Jayson Molumby in midfield, with the Burnley player making his 13th consecutive competitive start under Stephen Kenny.

Up front, Michael Obafemi and Troy Parrott will reprise their partnership after both scoring in the last game against Scotland.

Robbie Brady has been included on the bench and could be in line for his first international appearance for over 18 months should he come on. The likes of Shane Duffy, Chiedozie Ogbene, and Callum Robinson will also offer options to the manager should changes be required.

Here is the team in full.

While Ukraine's victory over Armenia earlier today means Ireland can no longer top their UEFA Nations League group, there is still plenty to play for in this fixture. Avoiding relegation is the main priority, with a win in either of their two upcoming games enough to ensure that outcome.

A victory against the Scots could also boost their chances of receiving a second seeding for the Euro 2024 qualifiers, with play-off places for that tournament also up for grabs in the Nations League. A win tonight would be a major boost in that regard.

Ireland will certainly want to finish the campaign on a high over the next few days, bouncing back from their opening two defeats to earn four points in their last couple of games.

After defeating this opposition 3-0 in their last meeting, it would certainly be pleasing to see a repeat of that performance.
