Stephen Ireland's stint at Bolton Wanderers has come to a sudden halt, with the Championship club releasing a statement on their website to say that the club have parted ways with the former Ireland international.
The 32-year-old only joined Bolton in October, with a statement saying that the player has now left the club by mutual consent:

The 32-year-old linked up with the Whites on a short-term contract back in October, but the decision has now been taken between himself and the club to bring his deal to an end.
All at BWFC would like to wish Stephen all the best with his future endeavours.
Ireland leaves Bolton having not made a senior appearance for the Trotters.
Bolton currently lie second from bottom in the table, one point from safety.
