I was watching back over this interview that Stephen Hunt conducted with the press corps yesterday and couldn't help but be amused. Hunt gets a dig in at the begrudgers, defends the evolution of Ireland's footballing tactics, and makes a subtle play for his brother Noel being in the side. I didn't note one footballers cliche in nearly 5 minutes of chat here. And all the while he clearly transmits his pride at playing for Ireland and representing his country. Maybe it's Hunt who can bridge the disconnect between the Ireland team and its more lukewarm supporters over the next 8 months.
