Our man in Australia, Stephen Byrne, was once again out and about amongst the fans ahead of Ireland's final World Cup game against Nigeria yesterday.

The game took place at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, and while it was a bittersweet day, 'there was a real feeling of celebration in the air', as Stephen put it.

The Irish fans were out force and in great spirits, and words like 'unforgettable', 'sensational', and 'inspirational' were just a  few that were used to describe the Irish team and their World Cup journey.

Ireland didn't manage to convert any of their chances in the game, but more importantly they made Irish football history by securing their first ever point at a FIFA Women's World Cup.
