Stephanie Roche has been able to cash in on her new found fame by bagging some €3,000 for personal appearances. According to the Irish Daily Mirror she recently opened two Topaz garages along with appearing at a nightclub in Cork.
That's good money in comparison to what she was making playing in France. Roche made just €700 a month at her club in France and is yet to find a new club, making the appearances even more lucrative.
The money she made from her profession has been so limited that Roche is still living at home and is putting off a wedding to Bray Wanderers midfield maestro Dean Zambra.
Everyone keeps asking us when we are getting married, and we are just like, ‘We haven’t the money’.
We both live at home. That is what football does. It’s not as high paid as it is in the UK but it takes the same amount of work and commitment.”
She goes on to say she is hoping for a modest €1,000 per month from a new club.
I think America is the only place where you can get good money. When I was in France I was getting €700 a month, and I was broke nearly every week.
So if I was to go away now on a contract and get €1,000 a month, which is what a lot of girls are on, I can live OK when I am away, but when I’m home I won’t have much to fall back on.
It is good to see Roche being able to cash in somewhat for her cracking goal, something neither Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez will never have to worry about.
