Following the huge reaction to her wonder goal for Peamount United, Stephanie Roche has been called up to the Ireland squad for their match against Slovenia next Wednesday.
Of course, her selection isn't solely down to that goal (which has now been viewed almost 1.9 million times on YouTube). The 24-year-old has already played 24 times for Ireland, with her last appearance coming against Cyprus in March.
She replaces her club strike partner Sara Lawlor who had to withdraw through injury. Roche was naturally delighted to be selected.
