Stan Collymore publicly took his talkSPORT colleague Alan Brazil to task over his comments about Robin Williams' death on his radio show yesterday.
Brazil said that thank God it wasn't Robbie Williams before going on to say that he hadn't a lot of sympathy for the Hollywood star, adding 'what you leave behind is diabolical.'
Collymore, who has done plenty in the way of highlighting the problem of depression, retweeted some of the criticism wagered at Brazil before the pair addressed each other directly.
Well done @StanCollymore for retweeting comments about me. I stand by what I said today. The sympathy I do have is for RW's family & friends

@StanCollymore has his opinion and I'm entitled to mine

You're not a doctor @alanbrazil so your opinion on mental health issues counts for nothing to be fair.

On Kick Off @alanbrazil we've had mental health experts, survivors, people who struggle daily, Ralf Ragnick and more. Try listening.

An opinion on a factual illness isn't an opinion. It's called ignorance. I can have an opinion that the world is flat.

Well done @brianmoore666 for speaking with erudition today on @talkSPORT, with sensitivity, respect and empathy. Not blind ignorance.

talkSPORT have since issued an apology for Brazil's comments on his show, with a spokeswoman telling the Daily Mirror 'TalkSPORT apologises for any offence caused. Alan’s comments do not reflect the views of the station.'
