Stan Collymore Took Stick Today For Some Strange Comments About Sergio Aguero

Renowned journaliste Stan Collymore has a remarkable ability to mix some nuanced and cogent insights to football with some absolutely barmy ones.

His comments this afternoon on Sergio Aguero fall into the latter category. Ahead of City's waltz through West Ham, Aguero gave an interview to Geoff Shreeves of Sky Sports. He conducted the interview in Spanish, something which did not impress Stan Collymore:

Aguero does, in fact, speak English, but prefers to conduct his interviews in Spanish. Given the English tabloid media's proclivity for sensationalising anodyne comments, this is perhaps an understandable PR move by Aguero. This was pointed out to Collymore by The Mirror's Ed Malyon, but Collymore had no truck with it:
