While Spurs have been a bit more active in this transfer window in comparison to recent years, their fans have still been somewhat underwhelmed by their summer activity. Jack Clarke was sent straight back on loan to Leeds, and while Tanguy Demebele is an excellent addition, they still have a few holes in the squad.
Mauricio Pochettino even seems frustrated by the lack of signings. He recently told the media that he had no control over the club's transfer policy, and they should direct their questions elsewhere regarding such matters.
Well, it now appears as though he will finally be given another player.
Goal claim Spurs look set to sign Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham, having made a sizeable offer to their London neighbours. They have tabled a bid of £30million, while 22-year old Josh Onomah will likely move to Craven Cottage as well.
Sessegnon has long been one of the most highly rated youngster in English football. Despite being only 17-years old, he was a key member of the Fulham team that got promoted in the 2017/18 season.
While he did not make the desired impact in the Premier League last season, he still has massive potential. The winger is only 19-years old and should be given a chance to get regular playing time at Spurs.
After coming so close to Champions League glory last season, Tottenham will be hoping to end their trophy drought in the 19/20 campaign. That will be no easy task.
They still seem well behind Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League title race, while it will be difficult to repeat their exploits in European competition.
Still, a club on their budget continuing to compete at the highest level of the game remains a remarkable achievement.
