While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is currently in charge in a caretaker role at Man United, the question remains as to who will take charge of one of the biggest clubs in the world in the summer.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is one of the front runners for the job, and as such has already fielded a number of questions surrounding the potential for him to succeed Solskjaer at the end of the season.
On the day Jose Mourinho was sacked, the Argentine was asked about the speculation linking him with the job, but the 45-year-old remained coy on the subject:
I think after nearly five years there are a lot of rumours that have happened in my position here, as manager of Tottenham.
I cannot answer this type of question. These type of rumours happen in this business, in football.
I always respect the opinion of everyone, whether people praise me, whether people do not agree with me, whether people say different things. The business we know very well.
A lot of rumours happen but it is not my business what happened at another club. I am so focused in trying to deliver my best job at this football club.
In his press conference on Thursday ahead of Spurs trip to Everton the subject emerged again, though Spurs' press officer Simon Felstein was in no mood to let the interview be taken over by speculation about the Man United job.
Sky Sports journalist Darmesh Sheth began asking a question related to United, but was immediately stopped in his tracks by the Felstein:
Sheth: Mauricio, it might not have escaped your attention that there is a lot of talk at the moment about yourself and Manchester United. Now, former technical director at Southampton Les Reed..."
Press officer: You've spoken to the manager before. Anything to do with Manchester United, we've had 48 hours a day of the same conversations. I'm not prepared... the manager's answered and we're not prepared to have another press conference dominated by it.
The pair continued the debate for another minute before Sheth finally relented with Pochettino commenting that the press officer was now the star of the press conference:
Awkward ?

Felstein will definitely have his work cut out for him for the rest of the season, with United reportedly lining up Pochettino for a summer move.
