Prior to this summer's transfer window, Jurgen Klopp said that he hoped to have all of his signings in the door before Liverpool return to pre-season training. With the club set to begin training on July 8th, that looks like an increasingly unlikely prospect.
Liverpool have been linked with countless players over the last number of weeks, although only one of them has actually signed on the dotted line. Alexis Mac Allister remains their only signing to date, arriving from Brighton for a fee of £35million.
It is thought that they are currently considering a number of other potential targets. Khephren Thuram is the name most frequently mentioned, with the Nice midfielder thought to have agreed personal terms with the English side. It is said that they will negotiate with his current side after France finish their U21 Euro campaign.
As for another potential signing, it seems they could face some Premier League competition for his signature.
Spurs hope to beat Liverpool to key Jurgen Klopp target
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Spurs are interested in signing Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven this summer.

Thew Dutchman has previously been heavily linked with Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp thought to see him as a potentially key player in implementing a new system at Anfield next season.
A left-footed centre back, van de Ven impressed in the Bundesliga last season despite Wolfsburg's underwhelming campaign, making 33 appearances. At 22-years old, he still has plenty of room to develop further.
Liverpool will look to bring in a left-sided centre back this summer in order to bolster the system they used towards the end of the season, one which pushed Trent Alexander-Arnold into a more central role and used three players at the back. As a result, it is thought the arrival of a player such as van de Ven will be pivotal to their campaign.
It looks as though they are not the only club that sees it that way.
