There were question marks surrounding almost every "big six" club coming into the 2023-24 season, but those surrounding Spurs were perhaps most prevalent after the departure of star man Harry Kane.
The English striker had been linked with a move away for the past few summers, but Spurs had managed to hold on to their talisman and captain against fierce pressure from the likes of Manchester City.
With a year left on his contract, an offer from Bayern Munich proved too much for Kane to resist, and the 30-year-old moved to Bavaria earlier this month for a fee worth €100m.
Kane has settled in well, scoring on his Bundesliga debut for Bayern last Friday, but Spurs themselves have settled surprisingly well into life without their top scorer of all time.

Spurs took a 2-0 win against Manchester United in their first home game of the season last Saturday, with the dynamic attacking style of new boss Ange Postecoglou showing that they will be a threat this season even without the goals of Harry Kane.
Ahead of their trip to Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, Postecoglou was asked to comment on the pressure on Kane's successor Richarlison - and inadvertently threw a dig at the lack of trophies won during the Englishman's time up top at the club.

Ange Postecoglou references lack of Spurs success with Harry Kane
Though Harry Kane shattered personal goalscoring records ad nauseum during his time with Spurs, there was a lack of silverware to show for his exploits.
As Kane claimed multiple golden boots and broke the record for Spurs and England's all time top goalscorers list, there was heartbreak at club level. Spurs lost the 2019 Champions League final, as well as the 2015 and 2021 League Cup finals, and were runners-up in the 2016-17 Premier League - continuing their spell without a trophy stretching back to the 2008 League Cup.
Quoted in the Evening Standard ahead of Saturday's clash with Bournemouth, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou commented on the pressure on Brazilian forward Richarlison in following Harry Kane up front.
Postecoglou downplayed the pressure on Richarlison, but a throwaway comment about the club's lack of silverware in the past 15 years raised more than a few eyebrows:
I don't know that there's much of a burden there to carry. Ultimately, this football club needed to change. I think everyone at the club's got to grips that Harry is gone.
He's gone off to a new challenge and I'm sure he'll do very well over there. We've got our own challenge now.
I don't think there's any use in comparing yourself to something that's no longer here and is no longer relevant. It would be different if it was on the back of a successful era.
Spurs fans have every right to be excited by the blistering play produced thus far under Ange Postecoglou - but ending the wait for trophies will be a true test of any success the Aussie is to enjoy in charge in North London.
