If Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was at the Aviva Stadium on Friday night to run the rule over highly sought after Ireland striker Shane Long, then he was likely to have been impressed.
A goal, and a decent performance from Long will have surely impressed the watching Argentine. But was he there to watch the Tipperary striker? The reports of Spurs interest were there, but we weren't sure.
Now though, the Mirror is reporting the real reason that the Spurs manager was in Dublin, and we were right - it had nothing to do with Springsteen.
Nor did it have anything to do with Shane Long.
According to the Mirror, it was a striker that Pochettino was scouting - but it was AZ Alkmaar's Vincent Janssen that was the subject of his attentions.
The 21-year-old striker has been magnificent since January for his club, and has he has the scoring return in the Dutch league that makes you think he should move to somewhere with a challenge. He scored 22 goals in his last 19 games - including one against England in Wembley.
He's probably going to cost Spurs less than Long would - with a price tag of between £12-15 million being talked about.
It does sound more plausible for Pochettino, definitely more plausible than Long moving to Juventus anyway.
