The Spanish Commentary For Jon Walters' Peach Against Uruguay Was Outstanding

Named captain for the day, Ireland's Jon Walters will have wanted to have an impact regardless of the friendly nature of Ireland's qualification warm-up match with Uruguay, and boy did he do that.

Having built a successful career on working his tail off and being in the right place at the right time, Walters has scored a few crackers along the way for sure, but it's safe to say that it's not what he is best known for and Irish fans would have been forgiven for not seeing this one coming.

But it did. Walters scored a magnificent goal from the edge of the area to put Ireland in front, and while we were busy celebrating in the office, the Spanish commentary team at BeIn Sports enjoyed it just as much, if not more.

It's rare you hear 'GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! Que GOLAZO!' for an Irish player, but damn it's an enjoyable experience.

It was a nice move up until that point, and a marvellous finish, hopefully those lads didn't see the game against Mexico and think we do that sort of stuff all the time.

The goal brought Jon Walters level with 10th spot in the all-time Ireland goalscorers list, his 13th in the green jersey.

Vamos el capitan!
