While Manchester United are playing fairly well as of late, it is still expected that they will add to their squad in the January window.
The forward positions is a special area of concern with Romelu Lukaku not properly replaced during the summer. Mason Greenwood was excellent once again today but it would be unfair to place too much pressure on the 17-year old.
Erling Haaland has been mentioned as their primary target, with the Red Bull Salzburg player likely to move clubs over the coming weeks. It is believed that he will choose between Manchester United, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, and Juventus.
Talks have taken place with all four clubs, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer travelling to Austria earlier this week to speak to the player and his representatives. He has a release clause of just £20million.
It has been reported that Old Trafford is the player's preferred destination, and Solskjaer suggested that his compatriot has already made up his mind on his next move. When asked about their meeting, he said:
I don't comment on them speculations so that's it. He (Haaland) knows what he wants to do and he knows what he's going to do. So I don't have to give any advice to any other teams' players.
It sounds like he knows something we don't. A move to Germany had been seen as the most likely outcome, but Solskjaer may know the player has his heart set on the Premier League.
The 19-year old would be an absolute steal at that price. He has 24 goals in 20 club appearances this season and is perhaps the hottest striker in Europe at the minute.
