Soccer Republic have named their Premier Division team of the year, and predictably, their selection is dominated by double winners Dundalk.
Stephen Kenny's side have eight players nominated, with Bohemians, Waterford and Shamrock Rovers all having players picked for the award as well.

Here is the team in full:

Brian Gartland - Dundalk
Sean Hoare - Dundalk
Darragh Leahy - Bohemians
Robbie Benson - Dundalk
Chris Shields - Dundalk

Patrick Hoban - Dundalk

There has been consternation online following the announcement of the team, with no representatives from Cork City, despite the Rebel army finishing 2nd in the league as well as runners-up in the FAI Cup final on Sunday. Kieran Sadlier's omission in particular stuck in the craw of many Cork fans, who believed that Sadlier's 25 goals this season should be enough to secure him a spot on the team.
Not one Cork City player

Also, no Sadlier is ridiculous.

I felt a bit of a rumble and heard a distant boom. Had no idea what it was for a while until I realised it was 6000 heads exploding in Cork when they found out 'the biased Dublin media' screwed them over yet again by not naming one of their superstars in team of the year.

2nd in the league, 2nd in the cup. Not a single player in the team of the season. And people complain that our players feel they don't get the respect they deserve?
How could you possibly justify that.

Sadliers 25 goals not enough to merit inclusion?
